Fifth in our series on the small decisions. We are, unapologetically, a music-born house — it’s in the name on the door. This one is about what that means in practice: the records, the books, and the machines that play them.

In short: every Morrison Court apartment carries a Marshall Acton III in black and brass. For selected bookings — requested before arrival, subject to duration and our onboarding — we’ll install a turntable with vinyl chosen to your tastes from our own collection, which spans from Maltese early jazz pressings outward and is public on Discogs. Book lovers get the same treatment from our library, with monthly rotation on longer stays. Analogue, on purpose.

Music you can hold

Streaming solved access and abandoned occasion. A record is occasion by design: chosen, handled, turned over, attended to. Tell us what you love during onboarding — or browse the collection on Discogs and name your shelf — and you’ll arrive to a turntable and a stack that already knows you. The collection runs wide: Maltese early jazz that almost nobody outside this island has heard, and everything we’ve loved since. On a three-month stay, we’ll rotate the selection monthly, so the apartment’s taste evolves with yours.

The Marshall in the corner

Whether or not you take the turntable, every unit carries the Marshall Acton III — an amp-styled speaker whose brass detailing earned its place in our material palette before it played a note, and whose bass fills a stone-walled Maltese room the way it deserves. Bluetooth pairs in seconds; the heavy drapes that flatter your video calls flatter your records equally. Stone rooms, it turns out, were the original acoustics.

And the books

The same offer stands in paper: a large library of coffee-table and reading books, matched to your interests on request, rotated monthly for long stays. A stack of beautiful books on the table changes how an apartment holds an evening — and how a rainy Sunday goes.
