The kitchen opens straight onto the terrace — fifteen square metres of it, private, facing the Valletta skyline across the water. Outdoor dining at one end, two deckchairs at the other, and nothing else, because the apartment takes two guests and the terrace is furnished for two.

Walnut headboard, a reading light built into each side, and a star-trail print above the bed. Blackout curtains and warm low light — the room is built to get you properly asleep, which matters more when you are here for a month than for a weekend.
